A guarantor must sign the application and endorse the back of one photo for all new (PC8) applications. The guarantor cannot be related to the applicant.
5. Book an appointment for passport interview
- For child applications, at least one parent must lodge the application in person. The lodging parent does not have to be Australian. Children aged 16 and 17 years old must attend the interview accompanied by one parent. Children aged 15 years and younger are not required to attend the interview.
OR if you live in Finland, Latvia or Estonia, you can book a passport appointment with one of our Honorary Consuls in Helsinki, Riga, or Tallinn. The Honorary Consuls will mail your application to Stockholm for processing once the interview is completed. Please arrange an appointment by contacting:
· Honorary Consul in Finland (Ms Anja Aalto) - [email protected]
· Honorary Consul in Latvia (Mr Toby Moore) - [email protected]
· Honorary Consul in Estonia (Mr Kevin Parnell) - [email protected]
6. Payment
If you have an appointment at the Australian Embassy in Stockholm payment will be taken on the spot. If you have an appointment with one of our Honorary Consuls, the Australian Embassy in Stockholm will contact you directly for payment once the application is received.
7. Processing time
Due to increased demand, passports are currently taking 4-6 weeks to arrive at the Embassy from successful lodgement. Incomplete applications will cause delays. You should factor these timeframes into your travel plans. Additional delivery time may also be required if your new passport is returned to you by mail.
While your application is being processed, your previous passport remains valid until its expiry date. It will be automatically cancelled when you collect your new passport (or 30 days after we have posted it to you).
If you would like us to post your new passport to you, a postage fee applies.
