Immigration and Visas

The Australian Embassy in Stockholm does not process visa or citizenship applications for Australia. Please consult the Australian Department of Home Affairs at www.homeaffairs.gov.au for more information.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Australia has strict border measures in place due to COVID-19.  Check the Coming to Australia page for more information.

You should not book flights or make travel commitments until you have a visa and an exemption.The Department will not be liable for any financial loss incurred by clients whose visa application was finalised later than expected or where an application is unsuccessful.

The Australian Embassy in Stockholm does not process visa or citizenship applications. Visa processing for residents and citizens of Sweden, Estonia, Finland and Latvia is undertaken electronically through the on-line eVisa service, or Onshore Processing Centres, or the visa office at the Australian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.

Tourist Refund Scheme

The Tourist Refund Scheme enables you to claim a refund, subject to certain conditions, of the goods and services tax (GST) and wine equalisation tax (WET) that you pay on goods you buy in Australia.

Customs and Biosecurity

The Australian Customs Service manages the security and integrity of the Australian border and assists people and cargo to move in and out of the country.
